Understanding team member roles

In your vorteX-io team, each member can be assigned a specific role to ensure smooth management of access rights and responsibilities.

User Roles on the Platform

Administrator

The Administrator plays a key role in managing the team and has full access to all administrative functions within the workspace.

An Administrator can:

  • Add, edit, or remove team members

  • Assign or change user roles

  • Create custom data comparisons

  • Manage organization-wide settings

  • Create, edit, and delete alert notifications

  • Export available datas

  • Download subscription invoice

This role should be assigned carefully, as it grants complete control over your team and subscription settings.


Billing Administrator

The Billing Administrator shares most of the capabilities of a full Administrator, except for managing team members (adding, removing, or editing them).

This role is ideal for users responsible for billing or financial oversight.


Viewer

The Viewer role provides read-only access to the platform.

A Viewer can:

  • View data across different sections of the platform

  • Use dashboard search and filtering tools

They cannot make changes to data or access administrative settings.

This role is well-suited for internal staff who only need to monitor micro-station activity without configuring platform options.

Best Practices for Role Management

To maintain a secure and efficient organization, we recommend the following:

  • Limit the number of Administrators to reduce the risk of unintended changes.

  • Assign the Viewer role to users who only need access to information.

  • Review roles regularly, especially when team members join, leave, or shift responsibilities.
